Calanus og klimaet

Torkel Gissel Nielsen m.fl. arbejder videre med temperatur effekter på vandlopper af slægten Calanus samt peotozoer og planteplankton. I år ønsker arbejdes der med calanus hyperboreus som gyder allerede i Februar/Marts. I perioden 1.februar - 1. juni 2009.

Outi M. Tervo m.fl. from 25/2 to 9/3-2009 The objectives of this study are to estimate the distances over which bowhead whales can communicate in Disko Bay, Greenland and to evaluate how increased anthropogenic noise in the arctic might impair this capability.

Mads Peter Heide-Jørgensen, Kristin Laidre m.fl. from 30/4- 30/5-2009. The Disko Bay in West Greenland has special ecological conditions and suitable logistical facilities for conducting a study between an Arctic top predator, the bowhead whale, and its zooplankton prey.

Lone Bruun m.fl. vil i perioden 24/7-2/8-2009 indsamle inspiration og viden om den megen forskning der foregår på AS, desuden samtaler med relevante personer i byen og på stationen for på den måde indsamle førstehåndsoplysninger om livet i Grønland til Mikisoq.
Back to the Future

I perioden 26-30. juli 2009 arbejder Thomas Bjørneboe Gomes Berg, Terry Callaghan, Torben R. Christensen, Elin Jantze med nedstående projekt:
Back to the future er internationalt projekt (IPY projekt) hvor ældre forskere tager tilbage til deres gamle feltlokaliteter for at gentage registreringerne, for derigennem at få billede af ændringerne over tid i relation til klima. Projektet er et samarbejde mellem Forskningsstationen Abisko i nordsverige, Lund Universitet samt Naturama. Omdrejningspunktet bliver Terry Callaghan's feltlokaliteter tilbage fra perioden 1967-1970

Kirsten Hastrup afholder sammen med 4-5 andre undervisere sommerskole for 15 ph.d.studerende i perioden 5-12. september 2009. Titlen er: The Melting Ice: Local resilience and global scales of sustainability.
